Getting Insurance for Your GT
If you own a GT or another type of performance car, you know just how fun it is to drive. The look, style and speed of these vehicles is unmatched, as is the thrill you'll get from driving it every day. However, owning one of these great cars means that you'll likely be paying more for insurance; but that doesn't mean you can't do certain things to keep your monthly premium down. There are many insurers that provide special coverage for performance cars such as GTs.
There are different definitions of what a "performance" car really is. One is the car that's a performance vehicle the minute it rolls out of the factory, and then there are those that are tuned/modified by individuals or companies. Most insurers are reluctant to cover the latter, as there's no real way to gauge the quality of the work and the drivers of this type of car are statistically more likely to be involved in accidents.
There are some things you can do to keep your GT's insurance premium down. Taking an advanced driver's course can cut costs, as can cutting the number of miles you drive, or keeping your license and claims histories clean.
